The Verdicio Bucket Hat - Pattern

The Verdicio Bucket Hat pattern is one of my original hats that I designed for a friend on a surf trip in Northern Spain, and I am really excited to share this unique design with you. In this tutorial, we’ll explore working with a variety of colors, and I’ll guide you through my technique for achieving smooth color transitions. This fun project offers alternatives for ease and flexibility.

SIZE: The pattern instructions are provided for a size S/M, suitable for a head circumference between 55cm-57cm. Additional instructions will guide you on adding more rows to accommodate larger sizes.

SIZE ADJUSTMENTS: The pattern includes suggestions for adjusting the size to create a smaller or larger version according to individual preferences.

INTENDED AUDIENCE: This design is perfect for nature enthusiasts, fashion-conscious individuals, and anyone who loves unique, handmade accessories. This pattern is great for those familiar with basic crochet techniques and terminology.

YARN: For this project I used 1 strand of Touring Superwash Wool from Lang Yarns (Approx. Yardage: 200 m) in the colour Red, Light green, Dark green, Light brown, Brown and White.

Gauge Pattern:

• Stitch Used: Half Double Crochet (HDC)
• Swatch Size: 10x10 cm

Gauge Measurement:

• Stitches: 20 stitches per 10 cm (10 stitches per 5cm)
• Rows: 15 rows per 10 cm (7,5 rows per 5cm)
